Copy of Long-term Client Interview: Karen

client interview

We're back to showcase another long-term client of the Audacious Athlete team! Karen has been a part of Coach Brittany's roster for 44 weeks now.

Karen joined coach Brittany’s roster with the primary goals of strengthening her relationship with food, dropping some body fat and overall improving body composition. Karen is a type 1 diabetic, therefore has to be extremely cautious while prioritizing a caloric deficit to not allow blood sugars to get too low.

Brittany felt as though it would be best to simply gain consistency with tracking for a bit while optimizing macro percentages before jumping into a deficit. The first few months were spent bringing Karen’s daily intake up to 2,500 calories/day alongside implementing an untracked meal into her weekly protocols. They are currently in a deficit phase and as you can see, there have been significant shifts to Karen’s body composition, she has lost a total of almost 20lbs and her relationship with food has improved tremendously!

First off, how’d you find the Audacious Athletes team and your coach?

Instagram is where I originally found Audacious Athletes. I have always followed a lot of fitness pages and coaches and had even worked with coaches prior to Brittany, but Audacious Athletes caught my attention with their “stronger not smaller” tagline drew me in as well as the content they were posting, it was always so relatable (and still is).

What prompted you to seek out coaching initially?

I was at a point where I wasn’t tracking macros regularly and just starting something new every few weeks because I wasn’t sticking to any program. I wanted to get back to tracking and work on my relationship with food and then eventually start dieting down for my upcoming wedding.

Since being a client, what goals have you been able to accomplish?

I have made so much progress with my relationship with food, I have gained so much self-confidence, I have lost inches and almost 20lbs! In addition to those goals my diabetes management have gotten so much better.

What do you enjoy most about your relationship with your coach?

Brittany is so compassionate; she truly shows empathy as I learn more about my relationship with food and has so many ways to help me work on my relationship with food. She is also my biggest cheerleader and celebrates both big and small wins. I also absolutely love her programming, I have always loved the gym, but have never followed and stuck to a program like hers! She is an all around inspirational bad ass coach!!

If someone was on the fence about becoming an Audacious Athlete client, what advice or guidance would you give them?

Meet with Chanel and let her guide you to who she thinks the best coach for you is, she is so knowledgeable on so many topics. Interview your coach and make sure they are a good fit for you. Every coach on this team has a wealth of knowledge and experience and it is so important you find the person that is right for you!
