We are back again with another long-term client interview, this time showcasing one of Coach Jacky's longer standing clients, Hillary.
Hillary was Jacky's first client after she became a coach with the Audacious Athletes team. They have been working together for almost two years and have made strides together. Keep reading to hear (and see) for yourself.
First off, how’d you find the Audacious Athletes team and your coach?
When I started my journey of body recomposition, my trainer at the time was being trained by Chanel. So, logically, as a person trying to learn more about this new world that opened to me I started following Chanel. I learned a lot just from her stories and her sharing about her prep. All the little knowledge nuggets, I was there and when she promoted Audacious Athletes I started to get curious until I eventually filled out an inquiry form. By the time I did this, I have had two trainers and a year of strength training done. Chanel gave me all the coaches descriptions and who they were, and Jacky’s focus and her personality (since I did go research on social media) resonated with me. I also loved the fact that I had the option of talking to Jacky in Spanish if I needed to, not that I think we have but the option was there.
What prompted you to seek out coaching initially?
Initially, I wanted to be able to continue pushing body recomposition until I was satisfied. However, now body recomposition is a benefit of being able to live balance and enjoy working out while still learning. Learning not only about nutrition, but about my own body and to manage PCOS. I also wanted to be more guided in my lifts, I used to have a set program but not feedback in how to perform them. Week after week, Jacky has looked at my videos and given me pointers to understand how to engage my core properly and perform movements without injuring myself.
Since being a client, what goals have you been able to accomplish?
For the most part, I’ve been able to manage my condition and learn to properly lift. I also have had nice additions to my body structure and gotten SLIGHTLY better at difficult movements for me such as push ups and my squat depth.
What do you enjoy most about your relationship with your coach?
Jacky is very honest, out-going and hilarious which is wonderful for my somewhat introverted personality. And I think in over two years we have developed a lot of trust where a lot of personal information gets conveyed. Even some pregnancy scares, so you could say at this point we are besties. But honestly, she is amazing. An honest, wonderful human being, the best cheerleader and your scolding Latina momma when you need that tough-love.
If someone was on the fence about becoming an Audacious Athlete client, what advice or guidance would you give them?
Think about it, look at your finances and invest in it. It is an investment, but the knowledge and how open the coaches are to ensuring you learn from them is an important characteristic of Audacious Athlete. Be open minded to online coaching, the benefits, the flexibility and trust the process. If you’re ready for a coach, for nutrition, training, guidance or learning; this is it.
Hillary has been able to go through different strength and nutrition phases that has allowed her to reach many goals. They have been able to find the right programming to help her be stronger and train pain-free. She has been a sponge from the moment they began their coaching relationship and is always striving to be better.
